The world’s oldest ‘roadable aircraft’ up for grabs
Pankaj | Mar 10 2010

Before movies lit up our screens with a car that could take to the skies at the push of a button, Frank Skroback had already dreamed and built a roadable aircraft way back in 1934 leaving behind many dreamers to follow. So, if you secretly nurtured a dream of owning a flying car, the good news is your dream can be a reality as the world’s oldest “roadable aircraft” goes for sale. It’s being auctioned this weekend in Atlanta along with extensive documentation, including the 1921 patent on the design and correspondence demonstrating Skroback’s attempt to sell his vehicle. So, if you are seriously thinking of bringing this home, you need to make some big adjustments to adjust this 21-foot-long and 7-foot wing span vehicle in your garage. Oh, and before making the purchase, you might like to know the fact that nobody has found any proof of Skroback’s vehicle ever taking flight.
