The Conference Bike turns corporate meetings into a joyride

I’ve seen companies trying out a lot of weird things for team-building but his has got to be the most innovative idea yet. The Dutch Bicycle Company has created a Conference Bike, which promises to be the sure-fire ice-breaker in corporate or social environment. Aptly dubbed CoBi by American artist/inventor Eric Staller, the bike is powered by six peddlers while one steers it around. In case you’re guessing how this bike would be useful in scenarios other than a corporate set up, lemme tell ya the two models of the bike, CoBi-5 and CoBi-7 are already being used to ferry employees on the Amazon.com campus in California, as a tour bike in Berlin, and as a corporate team-building tool in London. The 400lb bike measures 2.5m L x 1.8m W x 1.4m H and can run a top speed of 15 kmph which is more than enough to get all the team members to gel together if you let them loose on a freeway! And while you may think that the Conference Bike isn’t safe with six peddlers having their fate in the hands of one loony steerer, it actually comes with dynamo-powered lights/reflectors that meet the strict German ‘StVO’ regulation so you have nothing to worry about when you have to CoBi-pool your way back from office at night. The incredible CoBi-7 retails for $12,750 in the States while the 5-seater model sells for $8,750. Check out the video after the jump to watch magnificent CoBi in action.
