The $15K Carbon Fiber Door with biometric fingerprint scanner
Naveen | Dec 8 2008

One of the best possible carbon fiber applications is being touted to be car wheels, but then we saw the carbon fiber baby car seat, and now we have carbon fiber doors for home and office use. Need one for your home or office? Be ready to shell out a cool $15,000. For that amount, you will get a custom made carbon fiber door that features a biometric finger print scanner for the lock for enhanced security. This biometric scanner is also made of carbon fiber. Choate Carbon from Brazil was commissioned by a businessman to build a carbon fiber door for his home lobby elevator area. The door with the matte lacquer finish was manufactured using the vacuum bagging process, divinycell and polypropylene honeycomb core and epoxy resin. This carbon fiber door will definitely add new looks to your home/office and when matched with frameless glass, it would look simply awesome.

Very very cool door. Not that practical though cos you’ll have people busting in through the ceilings/walls/floors like they do with bank vaults.

Great way to impress guests :)

Laser Modules For Raves!!!

Carbon fiber.. it’s a door so it’s supposed to keep things out.. not gonna happen..

A Bullet Resistant Fiberglass door would have been much smarter.
