Solar panel in a briefcase: Green power gets a business class look

Opti is a Taiwanese IT company who specialize in making optical drives and is one of the main setups looking forward to cashing in on the green tech boom. one of the firm’s subsidiaries, OPTI-Solar have now entered the field of solar-powered notebook peripherals and one of their first products on display at the Computex 2008 is this super-fine Metal briefcase, which looks like a standard business briefcase but actually houses a powerful portable solar charger that can easily juice up your laptop, cellphone and other portables. With a standard solar panel on top and Li-ion batteries and chargers housed in the base, the Metal can provide upto 75 watts of power on a full charge. The $1499 briefcase is expected to hit America later this summer.
