Phase in the moon-like glow with Smoon Ombrella Lamp
Deepa | Aug 11 2008

Hanging there like a halo, this lamp renders some saintly illumination to your den. Dubbed as Smoon Ombrella, I think the Smoon stands for moon-like and Ombrella for umbrella. Shaped by French furniture designers Beau & Bien, this moony umbrella LED lamp is intended to shield you from sunlight akin to an umbrella. And boosts the serenity of dark with soft light by night. Its USP is the wireless feature which gives you the freedom to stand it anywhere. Be it in your bedroom, living room or patio, this lamp is capable to light your surroundings for 6 days by just feeding its battery for10 hours. Now that’s truly something to boast of, as once a week charging is enough to suffice the whole week. I hate gadgets that need charging daily. Check out the red and the green hues after the jump.

Crafted out of Plexiglas, it stands tall at 81″ and the canopy measures at 39.4″ x 59″. However, $2200 for this lamp may pinch many a pockets. Basking under full moon light seems to be a much better option for me :)

I think it looks romantic... and if seen from distance, it may even look like a UFO :) .. but at $2200, even I would rather opt for romance in moon light under an umbrella :)

Haha romance under an umbrella, like in the old Hindi movies!:P I think going for a moonlit walk is the best option and it’s cheap too :D Haha ya it does look like a UFO but very very pricey UFO look alike. I am sure such kind of lights will be available in India and that too for cheaper rates! But thumbs up on the design, it is extremely appealing, if the price is knocked down a bit, maybe it will have a lot more takers.

LOL Raj Kapoor style ... You bet we will get ”made in China” of this design at much cheaper price.. till then, use moonlight and umbrella :)

Good to know that this Ombrella has stirred some age-old ideas of romance. Yep we can hope to sit under a similar reasonably priced umbrella lamp.

Walk in moonlit nite or walk in rains under one umbrella with your loved one.... mmmmmm...aren’t these truly romantic ideas?
