Looking for a unique and innovative wine dispending system? Enter the N2Wine, a new wine storage and dispensing system that holds wine in globe-like glass containers and keeps it completely isolated from oxygen at the just right serving temperature. The system offers wine by the glass, and makes sure that the wine tastes as good as it was at the moment when the bottle was opened. The makers of the “wine globes” say that it’s a misconception that all wine should be aged. They argue that around 90% of today’s wines are as good when bottled as they will be after six months or so. I won’t comment much on that and pass it to you for your take. Anyway, the wine globes can hold 33 or 70 bottles of wine, and prevent air from entering the system. These globes use an electronic water-cooling system to keep each wine at the perfect temperature, and are topped up with food-grade nitrogen when empty to avoid oxidizing effects. A $20,000 wine globe system is able to hold 24 varietals of wine (168 bottles), so the pricing for each wine globe sits at $1,000.
