Mark Wilkinson, known for his one-off furniture pieces, has recently unveiled the jeweled version of his “Marilyn” bedroom cabinet inspired by Marilyn Monroe at the London Design Festival. The sensual cabinet is designed to hold a lady’s finest pieces of lingerie or jewelery. The “Butterfly Marilyn” was handmade in walnut like its predecessor, in the company’s Wiltshire workshops. This luxurious one-off cabinet boasts sterling silver handles enameled with pave diamonds and Australian opals, in blue, pink & mauve. This exquisite cabinet with diamond studded butterfly handles has been bought by entrepreneur Leo Caplan for a final bid at $146,810. But, nonetheless for all those uber-rich ladies with royal taste, a limited number of this sensually sculpted cabinet is made each year and depending upon the final level of customizations, the cabinet ranges from $40,780 to as upwards as $163,072 and is available from 100percentMarkWilkinson. The luxurious cabinet features luxurious interiors lined with suede in a choice of four colors: madrigale pale blue, violetta lilac, nettarion pale peach or tan.
