Being at the forefront of luxury yachting is no easy feat. Jean-Jacques Coste of Coste Design & Partners attempts to marry opulence, style and the requirements of the modern ‘eco-savvy’ yachtsman. Ranging between 80ft and an unprecedented 203ft in length, Blue Coast Yachts catamarans, designed by Coste Design, represent the future of luxury yachting. The use of advanced, lightweight composite materials such as Kevlar, carbon and epoxy resin provides not only extraordinarily strong and light structures but is highly recyclable. As opposed to more traditional construction materials, these composites provide for a vastly increased lifespan and reduced maintenance costs. These luxury catamarans offer the discerning yachtsman expansive and revolutionary interior accommodations, such as Coste Design’s mezzanine, dual level loft arrangements or full width, foredeck master cabin with 180-degrees views. Lavish amenities on the Blue Coast yachts include swimming pool, Jacuzzi, home cinema, hydraulic swim platform, diving equipment chamber and all the desired water sport toys.
Speaking on Blue Coast catamarans’ incomparable ecological advances compared to standard fuel or diesel powered yachts, Jean-Jacques Coste said...
We are currently developing low emission propulsion with hybrid and fuel cell solutions. We believe these technologies will provide the cleanest, most cost-efficient methods of generating power and of weight distribution without loss of speed. We strive to minimize our carbon imprint.
Latest project from Blue Coast Yachts:
While the 203’ Event Cat catamaran from the firm is confidential for the moment, the one that deserves a mention is the Blue Coast 165’ (50 meter design), which is being claimed to be the biggest catamaran study of its type in the world. The catamaran has already been bought by someone and the construction will start at the end of this year. The styling created by Coste Design shows timeless elegance and innovation like the “facet style” shape of the windscreen, the huge helipad and the two piscine.
The sailing catamaran has four decks, with extremely roomy interiors that let you sail in total luxury and comfort. The living area offers total privacy to the guests, easy circulation for the crew and huge storage for toys and tenders.
The high quality composite make allows for a light and very resistant structure. With her light body and diesel electric propulsion, the Blue Coast 165’ will run efficiently, while reducing emissions.
