Limited-edition Ardbeg Double Barrel gets exclusively expensive

Brushing aside the woes of oil barrels getting pricey, let’s chill out with some intoxicating news of scotch barrels! Wonder why most of the scotch connoisseurs don’t frown at the escalating price tags of the limited edition releases? The latest fizz buzz is that Ardbeg has unveiled a limited-edition release of the Ardbeg Double Barrel. Inspired by the tradition of a British shooting party, the Ardbeg Double Barrel is offering two bottles from different single casks of 1974 Ardbeg in a handmade bespoke leather gun case. And before you sip on to your poison right now, try to digest the fact that each of this exclusive case will retail at $23,190. The hand-blown single cask bottles have ‘A’ and ‘1974’ embossed into the glass, and are wax sealed with the individual cask number.

The bottles lie on their side in opposing positions in hand-stitched bridle leather case. Each of this case is made to the same dimensions as a double-barrel gun case and will be numbered on the inner edge and protected with a key. So much security!

And for that much money, you can expect enticing frills like eight sterling silver (hallmarked) drinking cups by Hamilton & Inches, bespoke oak and sterling silver Omas pen and two hand-stitched leather-bound books that revolve around the theme.

Only 250 cases are available, two of which are being premiered at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3, courtesy of Moët Hennessy Asia Pacific.
