The ludicrously named Haaa!!! and Hooo!!! lamps, designed by Philippe Starck, seem to be laughing loud at the economic downturn. The Haaa!!! is one big floor lamp, while the Hooo!!! is a small table lamp. These lamps are actually an upshot of collaboration between five parties, with the design by Philippe Starck, text by Jenny Holzer, the custom electronics by Moritz Waldemeyer, the crystal by Baccarat and the execution by Flos. Each features a white LED display running along the center line of the crystal element. The interplay between the geometric LED matrix and hand-made Baccarat crystal turns Jenny Holzer’s text into an attention-grabbing animation. Flos presented this stunning collaborative project during the Milan Salone 2009. Only 9 examples of the Haaa!!! will be made available, with each costing a whopping €90,000 ($119,250). On the other hand, the Hooo!!! (49 examples) will set you back €9,000 ($11,925).
