A copy of J.K. Rowling’s first Harry Potter novel ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ was sold at auction for $40,326 at Christie’s auction house in London. The copy of the hardback first edition was published in 1997 and signed by British author Joanne Rowling on the back of the title page. The book was sold to an anonymous bidder. Back in May, a copy of ‘Philosopher’s Stone’ inscribed with a personal dedication to the owner sold for more than $55,000, including buyer’s premium.
