The eight foot tall robot introduced in the 1951 movie ‘The Day The Earth Stood Still’ is currently up for auction at eBay. This huge animatronic Gort robot was created by Fred Barton Productions, Inc. The current bid for this huge robot is $4,150. The museum-quality replica features some remote-controlled mechanical moves and is equipped with tilting visor with sound effects. The fiberglass reproduction was handcrafted by the robot builders at Fred Barton Productions, and has been on public display for the last few years. According to ad the Gort robot is in very good condition with minimal visible wear. Although the controller is included, the robot hasn’t been activated in years. It’s unknown if it’s in working condition. So, be careful guys!
