To commemorate the illustrious Barbie doll’s 50th anniversary, Fiat is planning a special edition pink Fiat 500. The show car has been made in collaboration with Mattel. The Barbie has earlier been dressed up in a Ferrari driver’s uniform with racing helmet for the 2000 Scuderia Ferrari Barbie collector’s toy. The pink Fiat 500 will be driven by Ken. The new Fiat Barbie comes with crystal-encrusted hubcaps, window moldings and antenna. The outline of the doll can be found on the car’s pillars and the cover shows a ’60s version of the Fiat 500 and a Barbie autograph. A number of Barbie editions have been rolled out in the past, including a light pink Chevrolet Corvette convertible and many editions of Ferrari Barbie. The 2001 Ferrari Barbie wore a red evening gown and a silvery hair ornament that resemble the Prancing Horse logo. The pink Fiat 500 Barbie edition will be unveiled on March 2009 during anniversary celebrations for the world-famous doll.
