Fagor Brandt Aion - Green kitchen of the future
Naveen | Jan 23 2008

The ‘Kitchen of the Future’ is becoming more of a high-tech hub, laden with state-of-the-art multimedia gadgetry and green features. We have already seen such fabulous kitchen designs, including the GE’s Concept Kitchen of the Future, Floating Kitchen Island concept, Norbert Wangen’s K11, Kitchen Island, Outpost Kitchen, and the MAN kitchen. In 10 years from now, kitchens might make use of features like the Aion kitchen. The Aion kitchen is a multifunctional appliance that has been designed by Antoin Lebrun for Fagor Brandt Group. The specialized plants were developed by the aerospace industry for their filtering and cleaning properties. They provide a renewable supply of clean water and vegetable soap. In closed position, the system is in washing mode. You will have to open it to access the cooking functions. When you close the appliance, the workspace and the sink, including dishes inside, are washed up with natural soap provided by plants. It’s hard for me to find the right words to appreciate the design but I must say it’s cool, literally!
