High-end audio is turning into art with now more attention paid to the design and finish of the cabinet besides the specs. Elac, the German audio manufacturer, has launched its Art-Edition loudspeakers at IFA, which are real design pieces with high gloss finish and attractive decorative motifs to complement plush interiors. The art series loudspeakers feature “decoration tattoos,” the foils are tissue-thin, UV-resistant and protect against scratches or water and are very durable. Depending on your personal style, you can select from tone-in-tone solutions, such as white matte motifs on high gloss white surfaces, or if you prefer a high-contrast staging can select for silver or dark gray tattoos on white high gloss or titan shadow speakers. And if the motifs no longer fit into your style, the tattoos can be removed. The highlight of the collection is a limited edition of their successful model FS 247 in the “De Stijl dress” which is inspired from the painter Piet Mondrian ELAC. These extravagant speakers will appeal to wealthy music lovers and design connoisseurs alike, for whom exclusivity outweighs everything else.
