Dragon Rouge’s packaging design for L'Or de Jean Martell cognac
Naveen | Jun 29 2009

Martell Cognac, one of the most honored of the major Cognac houses, has chosen Dragon Rouge to create the packaging design for the new L’Or de Jean Martell cognac, an epitome of Martell expertise. This cognac is a true rarity for discerning connoisseurs. Dragon Rouge will not only do the packaging design, but also make a narrative about the brand. Dragon Rouge has already the privilege of creating the highly successful market positioning for Martell’s XO product. The L’Or de Jean Martell is a double distillation of the finest eau-de-vie and a classy combination of the four finest growths - Grand Champagne, Petite Champagne, Fins Bois and Borderies. Dragon Rouge has worked around the concept of the Golden Number and thought of a bottle created from pure crystal, in which the liquid is concentrated in a single droplet suspended from an arch festooned by “Martell” arabesques in gold. The stopper features graphic elements that include the Martell name.

The creative research done by Dragon Rouge addresses three major challenges mentioned below.

Adopt the codes used by ultra-premium cognacs. Address extremely demanding consumers who share different cultural backgrounds (Russia, USA, China). Lastly, remain consistent with the values defended by Martell and expressed in the other products in the range.

Only 120 bottles of Martell L’Or de Jean Martell are available in the U.S for a price of $3,600 per bottle.
