Dorothy’s ruby slippers, which have earned the status of being the most iconic shoes in movie history, are finally up for auction. The iconic red slippers have been reinvented by world’s top shoe designers to mark the 70th Anniversary of The Wizard of Oz; courtesy of Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Swarovski Crystallized Elements. The 19 designers who were selected to showcase their modern version for this celebration include Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, Roger Vivier, Moschino and Alberta Ferreti. These new designs were up for display at the Swarovski store in Soho from September 15 - 23. The slippers are now up for online auction on September 24 and the proceeds will benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. The auction is open to global bidders, so all your Hollywood memorabilia collector’s log on to fancy your chances of winning these one-of-a-kind slippers.
