CES 2008 - Dreamflyer virtual reality flight motion simulator
Naveen | Jan 10 2008

Up on display in the gaming innovation area at CES is the Dreamflyer. It’s a lightweight and compact personal virtual reality flight motion simulator designed to enhance the flight simulation experience. The pilot-led and pilot-induced roll and pitch oscillation is interpreted by brain to perceive the feeling of flight in the most realistic way. The Dreamflyer works on a simple principle of mechanics, the pivot arrangement. The user while sitting on the chair balances his weight across the longitudinal and latitudinal axis of the chassis and that balancing act generates motions. The sensor under the chair captures the movements and sends the information to a computer loaded with simulation software. The software interprets the information and the user sees the results real-time on the screen.

The black powder-coated aluminum frame and replica pilot’s seat provide a pleasing appearance enabling the Dreamflyer to fit into any decor. Wannabe pilots can have the Dreamflyer for $3000 in the States.
