Beatle mop-top John Lennon's gold-rimmed glasses up for auction

If you like pop music, how can you not be a Beatles fan? Here is a call for all the Beatles fans out there as a pair of gold-rimmed, wire sunglasses worn by Beatle mop-top John Lennon are up for auction at a British website. The ionic glasses are being touted to fetch more than US $1.5 million. That is no surprise for me. The pair was seen up for bidding at site, which is owned by a Japanese television producer named Junishi Yore who was a translator for the Beatles in 1966 if we believe the description given on the site. On the glasses, yore has engraved a note saying that he got them when Beatle was on a tour in Japan. Also a leading anti-war activist in the Vietnam era, Lennon recorded Give Peace a Chance when the Vietnam War was at its zenith. He has been photographed a number of times in his round, wire-rimmed glasses and the image made his fans go crazy. The news around the hot tub is that bids as high as US $1.5 million have been received but that’s not official for now. The auction is scheduled to end on July 31.
