Fans of Andy Warhol have a reason to feel sad, for they missed out to grab the artist’s trademark silver wigs that were sold out for $10,800, at an auction of memorabilia on Thursday, in New York.

The wig, together with artist’s paint-splattered Ferragamo shoes and paintbrush formed the part of sale of film and entertainment memorabilia. The shoes went off for $7,800 while the paintbrush raised $3,840.

Apart from Warhol’s goodies, the auction also featured Marilyn Monroe’s cocktail dress that she wore in “The Misfits” and her telephone index.

Warhol art has been hot among the elite group over the years.
