Berwyn's car kebab, non edible of course!
Jayaprashanth | Apr 14 2008

If you want a car skewer, i mean, a bunch of cars arranged on top of each other on a silver spike, it is high time you to enter the Ebay auction that is already on. We are talking about the Berwyn Spindle that adorned the Cermak plaza at Illinois. This unusual piece of abstract art was even featured in the movie Wayne’s world. And the Berwyn’s Spindle has been under the flea-bay, er eBay hammer, since yesterday afternoon and still hasn’t found any takers for it though more than 2000 people have viewed the item which is listed at a starting bid of $50000. A creation of the Californian designer Dustin Shuler, the Berwyn Spindle has had it’s share of lovers and haters with a majority of Berwyn residents, now feeling that it is a veritable eyesore on their main street, where it currently stands.

Apart from the bidding amount, you also need to pay $100,000 (that’s one huge figure) for transporting this gigantic art piece to wherever you want it to and wait for this. You also will need to fork out an estimated $300,000 to refurbish it. Now, we know why the Berwyn spindle doesn’t have any takers.

Bidding on the car kebab is worth it. I was thinking how expensive it is to transfer this gigantic art piece to some other places down the US. More at Autopartswarehouse.com.
