The internationally recognized auction house, Gooding & Company, ever since setting the record at Palm Beach in 2006, is looking for the right opportunity to return. And here they are again with their first ever auction in Florida. Among the number of exceptional consignments, the best of the show will be a 1931 Voisin C20 “Mylord” Demi-Berline. A unique combination of technical and artistic excellence, this C20 is recognized as a marvelous tribute to the design and engineering genius of Gabriel Voisin. Powered by one of only five extraordinarily intricate Voisin 12-cylinder sleeve valve engines known to have been built by the aviation pioneer, it is one of the most complex engines from the pre-war era. Voisin has transferred the lessons of aerodynamics to vehicle dynamics in his unusual interior designs with an array of dials and switches that are exposed for the driver to see. Gooding & Company’s one-day auction will take place on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 4 p.m. on the grounds of the Amelia Island Plantation.
